Bletilla striata is a hardy, terrestrial orchid prized for its delicate, rosy-pink flowers with darker markings. Blooming in spring to early summer, it produces graceful spikes of orchid blooms above clumps of pleated, lance-shaped leaves.

How to plant  

Choose a warm and sunny spot to plant the rhizomes just below the surface, leaving the pseudobulb slightly exposed and space them 30cm apart. Give a deep watering to help the soil settle.

Mulch with compost and water every 2-3 days in pots. Less frequently if planted in the ground.
