Gladiolus carmineus makes a splendid addition to pots and garden beds. Growing from seed is a rewarding task for the bulb enthusiast, and considering their distribution being vulnerable to housing developments, growing them contributes to their conservation.

Natural Habitat

Coastal cliffs and rocky outcrops of the southwestern Western Cape

Sow seeds in a well-ventilated, sunny location. Full sun is ideal for optimal growth. During the winter growing season, water generously every 7–10 days.
